This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Card and tap-to-pay are widely accepted; cash-only is more common at small family-run counters.

Had an amazing experience at Temaki Society! The hand rolls were incredibly fresh, and you can really taste the quality of the seafood. The uni was rich and buttery, the toro with uni and caviar was absolutely decadent, and the spicy tuna and salmon rolls were packed with flavor. The marinated shrimp was a pleasant surprise and one of the most unique dishes we tried. I also loved how the seaweed stayed perfectly crisp until the moment you ate each hand roll. Every bite had great texture and balance. The portions were generous, the presentation was beautiful, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout the meal. Definitely one of the best hand roll spots Iβve tried in LA. Canβt wait to come back!

Cute hand roll shop on Broadway and 4th in DTLA. I came during lunchtime. They have a space for seating inside. The presentation of the rolls was the absolute cutest. The hand rolls were served with a mini red trash bin to put your plastic waste in. I did the 5 roll special. It came with scallop (left), yellow tail, salmon, blue crab, and spicy tuna (right). I thought it was more than enough. I could have gotten away with 4 rolls. Love how close it is to me. Will be coming back again.

Finally tried this hand roll spot and it did not disappoint. Came during peak hours and waited a bit, but totally worth it. We ordered the 2person combo and everything was super fresh. The rice was perfectly seasoned and slightly warm, the nori was crisp, and the uni hand roll was outstanding β easily one of the best Iβve had. The soy marinated shrimp was also a standout. Small but stylish space, great quality overall. Would definitely come back!

Amazing hand roll restaurants in DTLA with a speakeasy bar. They have a $88 couple combo which is great for dating and couple. The fish were so fresh and premium quality. The staffs are really friendly and loved the environment. The cocktails are straight from the bar and wasted great. We would definitely come back.

Iβd seen this place pop up so many times and finally had to try it. Theyβre known for flying in fresh uni straight from Japan and using premium Japanese rice. Since uni quantities are limited, a lot of people said if you come late youβll miss out, so I went right when they opened on a weekday lunch. 5 Handroll Combo Spicy Tuna Roll: tuna with crispy onion Salmon Roll: fresh minced salmon Scallop Roll: bay scallops with tobiko, juicy and crunchy Yellowtail Roll: chopped yellowtail, tender and smooth Blue Crab Roll: blue crab with avocado This set is such a deal at $29, considering each handroll is $7β8 if ordered separately. Freshness is guaranteed, nothing goes wrong here. Other handrolls I tried Spicy Yellowtail Roll: with jalapeΓ±o, cilantro, burdock, yuzu soy, and lemon zestβrefreshing with a spicy kick Banh Mi Roll: Vietnamese banh mi spirit turned into sushi! Albacore tuna with pickled radish, chili, garlic chili oil, lime zest, and cilantro Golden Uni Roll: uni topped with 24K gold leaf, pickled wasabi, and shisoβsweet, creamy, totally worth it, and I got uni from a freshly opened box CUT Roll: tuna, uni, and caviar layered beautifully Lobster Roll (seasonal): wit
